Belmont Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant

As one of two Advanced Wastewater Treatment facilities owned by Citizens Energy Group, the newly upgraded Belmont AWT, has a total capacity of 300 million gallons per day. Walsh Construction was contracted to complete the expansion of the facility that included a new Air Nitrification System, new lift station to transport wastewater, and upgrades to the existing lift station and oxygen nitrification system to achieve maximum secondary treatment. Klenck Company utilized company owned excavators to remove the plastic media from the four bio roughing trickling towers at Belmont AWT. Once removed from the 150’ diameter tanks, the media was downsized using a Vermeer horizontal grinder and fed into awaiting tractor trailers. The media was then removed from site; Klenck Company handled the profiling, transport, and disposal meeting the needs of the general contractor and owner.
